BIKERS OPEN DAY by Wirral IAM Saturday 15th May 2010, 9am to 4pm

Your Riding Skills Assessed plus Demonstration Rides (Refreshments available) at Burton Nursery (car park) Chester High Road Burton Wirral CH64 8TF

(A540 next to The Great Outdoors Camping Shop & Water World)

Rider Skills Qualified Observers from Wirral Advanced Motorcyclists Club (WAM) will be available, free of charge, to provide a short, practical assessment of your riding standard based on the Police System of Motorcycle Control as practised by Police Class 1 riders.

Have a chat with one of the male or female members to find out how you can improve your riding and safety.

Novice and experienced motorcyclists are welcome to join WAM, prepare for and pass the Advanced Test of The Institute of Advanced Motorcyclists and benefit from a potential reduction in the cost of insurance. (The IAM is a non-profit-making Registered Charity).

Remember to bring your driving/riding licence!

More information is available by telephoning Steve Walling on 0151 357 3323 (weekends or early evenings).

The primary aim of the Club is to encourage the recruitment of new members who would like to improve their riding skills with a view to passing the Institute of Advanced Motorists Advanced Motorcycle Test. Secondary benefits include the possibility of lower insurance premiums and an enjoyable social life.

WAM is a very active club with male and female members from all works of life with members ages ranging as widely as their occupations.

Members come from Wirral, Merseyside, Cheshire and North Wales and many have more than one motorcycle. Whilst modern sports bikes predominate there are a wide range of tourers and some classic bikes. Some members are also circuit and road racers. Contrary to some perceptions of the IAM, hardly anyone wears dayglow!

In addition to having ride outs on Sundays (9.30am) and Thursdays (6.45pm) from the Tudor Rose pub car park at Two Mills (A540/A550), South Wirral there is a monthly club night from 7.45pm on the second Tuesday of the month at the RAFA Club, 17 Shrewsbury Road (on the corner of Alton Road), Oxton, CH43 1UU. Many guest speakers and some celebrities from world of motorcycling and racing have attended.

From time to time, track days are organized as are trips to the shows and touring trips all over the UK, Ireland and the continent. If you had not guessed, if we cannot think of a reason, we will go out on our bikes just to enjoy ourselves! WAMs current annual membership fee is 15GBP plus another fee due to the IAM if you wish to take your Advanced Test and become a Member.

We will look forward to meeting you!
