Affiliated to the Institute of Advanced Motorists - Group No. 5115
This group was originally formed as a subsection of the Wirral Advanced Motorists group, but broke away as a group in it's own right in 1982. We are one of the earliest motorcycling groups to be affiliated with the Institute of Advanced Motorists. We are also affiliated to the British Motorcyclists Federation. We have members from the Wirral Peninsula, Liverpool, Cheshire and North Wales
The main aim of the club is simple: We are a bunch of motorcyclists who like to ride their bikes and help those who wish to improve their enjoyment of motorcycling by developing their riding skills, culminating in the passing of the IAM Advanced Test.
We have members with all kinds of bikes and interests including sports bikes, tourers, off roaders, classics. From singles, twins, fours and v-twins, so everyone is welcome, above all we have a passion and pleasure for bikes whatever they are.

Advanced riding is based on a set of fundamental principles which guide every action you ever take on a motorcycle. As an advanced rider, you control your bike with precision, you ride with intense concentration and awareness, you anticipate danger and mistakes from other drivers, and you always leave a comfortable margin for safety.
The development of advanced skills is done on a practical level, following some initial input from the classroom, the rest of the course is held on the road in the company of an Observer. These are members of the group, who after passing the Advanced test, take a further qualification to help to pass on the skills they have developed. You will complete a six week course, at the end of which you will take your advanced test.
Our monthly meetings are held in Birkenhead, for more details of how to find us go to the location page.
The club has a well established social side, with regular ride-outs such as the 2011 Easter Sunday ride to Nant Gwytherin on the Lleyn Peninsula, North Wales.
